Classroom Vocabulary Bingo: free printable cards
Printable vocabulary bingo cards with general school terms you can swap for your unit.
Vocabulary bingo is a quick review that works for almost any subject. The default list is a sample of general school terms across language arts, math, science, and social studies, meant to show the pattern so you can replace it with your current unit.
Read a definition or an example instead of the word itself to make students think. Students mark the matching term, and the first row wins. Keep the cards after class, since the same set can be reused for review before a test.
One of the 5×5 cards this template makes. Every printed card gets its own layout.
How to play
- Print cards and give each student some counters.
- Read a definition or an example rather than the word.
- Students cover the matching term.
- First row wins; have the winner read back their terms.
- Replace the list with your current unit's vocabulary.
The 40 squares in this template
A 5×5 card with a free space uses 24 of them, so each card gets a different mix. Edit, add or delete any of these after you open the template.

Printing tips
- For a group of up to 30 you can print everything free. Choose 2 cards per page for a standard size, or 4 per page to save paper.
- Turn on the call sheet. It lists every square in a random order with a checkbox, so the caller never repeats one.
- Add a few more squares than the 24 a card needs. The more entries, the more the cards differ.
- Pick “Save as PDF” in the print dialog if you want to email the cards or print them later.
